In 2024, our founding team purchased and transformed a collapsing 1800s-era barn in Ann Arbor into the BarnHaus—luxury residences that seamlessly blend historic preservation with modern design. Once held together by steel chains, the structure was reengineered from the ground up, retaining much of its original timber frame and silhouette, while incorporating energy efficient, sustainable systems and contemporary architecture.

The BarnHaus showcases Base Property Group’s full-spectrum real estate expertise—from site acquisition and entitlement to interior design, development, and ongoing management. Delivered on budget and rooted in place, it’s a rare example of adaptive reuse executed with soul, precision, and purpose.

Also in 2024, our team successfully re-developed a historic Ann Arbor farmhouse that we purchased earlier that year—formerly used as office space, this space was transformed into luxury residential multi-family units, adding a detached Golf Simulator Bungalow for recreation. The property received all-new utilities and a full interior renovation, while preserving original hardwood floors and the home’s signature brick charm.
